Utilising Early Mitochondrial Screens in Drug Safety Toxicology

In this presentation, Julie Eakins, Senior Research Scientist of Cyprotex will discuss a number of in vitro approaches to detect compounds which can result in mitochondrial toxicity. The early detection of compounds which interfere with mitochondrial function is important in the development of safe new drugs. Using a combination of different assays on the flux analyser, it is possible to gain insights into the mechanisms of this toxicity which may aid compound design.
